The unique basket of Laslappies Lodges is situated on the doorstep of the world renowned Greater Addo Elephant National Park. The origin of the group of Lodges, started with the owner of Laslappies Boerdery (Farming), Mr. Hermanus Potgieter when a unique opportunity presented itself to add a third Lodge, Beyond Cui Bono? to the 2 existing Lodges, Addo Dung Beetle and Kududu Guest Farm, weaving a spectacular variety of accommodation.

Kududu Guest House, overlooking the luscious Sunday’s River Valley and on the doorstep of the world renowned Greater Addo Elephant Park, lies Kududu Guest House, a haven of tranquillity and comfort, waiting to be discovered. Nestling in and surrounded by the well-known valley bushveld, Kududu has panoramic views across farmlands and extensive Eastern Cape bush which is a malaria free area. Its position allows for complete relaxation in a tranquil and luxurious setting, far from the madding crowd. We are ideally located in the central area of the Valley, making many day tours or excursions easily attainable.

Whether you are looking for a luxurious holiday or fun-filled adventure, you are sure to have a memorable stay in our part of the country where we will pamper you and see to all your needs.

Enjoy magical views as you sip your early morning coffee overlooking our magnificent valley. Relax on the veranda after breakfast with a good novel or take yourself off on one of our marked trails. Kududu Guest House is a 4 star property in the Sundays River Valley (Eastern Cape) that offers accommodation in four luxury rooms, two standard rooms and two self-catering garden cottages.

This 4 star property offers accommodation in four luxury rooms that all come fully equipped with en-suite bathrooms, TV (DStv), tea and coffee making facilities, air conditioning, heater, single or king beds and hairdryer.

The two standard rooms offer an indoor garden area, en-suite bathroom, single or king beds and private entrance.

The two garden Chalets can sleep four comfortably, lounge, veranda, air conditioning, kitchenette, one bedroom, en-suite bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities and TV (DStv). Crisp percale linen is used on all our beds and personal toiletries are provided.

Kududu Guest House offers bed and breakfast rates on all accommodation available. The 2 Chalets and Room nr 9 situated at the pool area, also have a self-catering option.

Our facility also offers the following to our guest – Jacuzzi, conference facilities for up to 20 delegates, a beautiful lush garden, room service, laundry services, internet and fax facilities, braai facilities, lapa, crystal clear swimming pool, bar, transfers, lounge and veranda. This 4 star guesthouse is ideally situated on a working farm.

Our farm, known as Nooitgedacht, is measured to be 530 Ha of which 70 Ha is planted under a wide variety of Lemon, Navel and Valencia citrus trees. The Sundays River Valley is one of the biggest citrus production valleys in the Southern Hemisphere and we are proud to export about 20% of South Africa’s citrus. Our harvest time is mostly during winter and the season stretches from March to October each year.

On our private nature reserve, we have quite a few different species of wildlife on the farm, including Giraffe, Waterbuck, Kudu, Duiker, Warthog, Zebra, Bushbuck, Nyala, Eland, Bush Pig, various bird species and breeding projects with our disease-free Addo Buffalo and Sables.

At Kududu Guest House you can follow one of our carefully marked walking trails through the bush and enjoy the thrill of watching Bushbuck, Kudu, Duiker, mountain Tortoises and a wide variety of bird life at close range.

We have acquired a game vehicle and have a guide who will take guests on game drives in our game reserve. It’s a rare privilege to be 5 to 10 meters from one of the Big Five, the feared African Buffalo. Also experience the nightlife on the farm in the sighting of Jackal, Owl, Porcupine, as well as Bush pig.

As the day comes to an end and darkness falls, you can sip sundowners on our wide veranda and watch the spectacular African sunsets and see the Addo buffalo roaming in the fields.

Our pool and lapa areas are for the exclusive use of our guests. Pool towels are provided. Relax in our jacuzzi while watching the sunset over the mountains.

Dinner is served on request and must be booked prior to arrival. We will also be pleased to book tours, excursions or dinner at one of our many restaurants in the surrounding area.

Sundays River Valley is ideally close to the Addo Elephant Park and the surrounding area which offers activities including visiting the Addo Elephant Park, the only Park in the world to view the Big 7. Game viewing, mountain biking, bird watching, hiking, citrus tours, 4×4 safaris are also favouriting among visitors.

History on the area

Situated in Addo, this Guest House is 5.9 mi (9.6 km) from Sir Percy Fitzpatrick Lookout and 7.2 mi (11.5 km) from Addo Elephant National Park. Kirkwood Golf Course and Uitenhage Golf Club are also within 25 mi (40 km). If you’re on the R 336 on your way to Addo Elephant Park, “The Lookout” view is truly worth a stop. Don’t miss the sign at the railway crossing!

Sir Percy Fitzpatrick Lookout

To guarantee the future preservation of this magnificent view, Sir Percy Fitzpatrick, well-known writer of “Jock of the Bushveld”, bought this ground and built this Lookout. He and his wife are buried here. His son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs. J.P. Mackie Niven, have left it to the National Monument Council as a heritage for all.
